About us
Original Seeds Store was established in Newport South Wales in 1992 originally named Sensible Light Systems and Seeds. At the time, hybrid seeds and early hydroponic equipment was only available in Amsterdam. We were excited by what we saw emerging there and decided to take it back to the UK. From here we embarked on this incredible venture.
Within a short time our work on the pioneering, hybrid ( Skunk ) generation of cannabis seeds and the emerging hydroponic method of plant cultivation meant that the quality of products and the efficiency of the equipment that we were producing was ground breaking. People in the industry both then and now refer to Original Sensible as pioneers of the industry what we say is, its been the most incredible journey and one we´re honoured to have had a part in.
Original Seeds Store has now been trading online for over a decade from our large distribution centre in Spain. Our customer care is unparalleled which can only be credited to our experience and knowledge in this ever evolving industry. We ship cannabis seeds to every corner of the globe from Europe to the USA, Canada and Australia using the best, fastest and secure shipping methods to ensure your marijuana seeds are delivered in tip top condition.

By the mid 90's we were extensively featured in many Hemp culture magazines and newspapers and boasted thousands of customers Worldwide from Lords, Ladies and high faluting professionals to the average Joe with some space to grow.
Unfortunately for us and our customers, the establishment ( you know who we mean ) took rather a large disliking to our business. They saw the accelerated growth of our customer base and the huge support that we were receiving and this scared them. At the time, most of the cannabis imported into the UK was Hash but the new Skunk was now having a major impact on the industry, The British Government wanted to label it as a class A drug due to its potency and deployed all manner of scare tactics to put a stop to it, as explained in our interview with MixMag dated March 1995. Here we were credited as being the first to offer the new Skunk seeds to the masses in the UK.

By this time we were in the sights of the law.. Unknown to us, we were about to become the focus for one of the UK's most extensive and costly "drugs" investigations.
Between October 1994 and February 1995 OPERATION NODDER swung into action. An operation with the sole intent of building a case against us and the new cannabis seed / hydroponic industry and bringing it to a stop. We were about to be used in the test case that now provides the legal basis that allows all Seed / Grow / head-shops to operate.
The Government needed a guinea pig so that they could prove in a court of law that selling cannabis seeds or any equipment related to cannabis production was illegal. The problem was that we knew perfectly well that it was legal and were in fact in a better position to dictate the particulars of cannabis law than any police chief, lawyer or judge in the land at the time.
Although the police and press scare mongered, the people within the industry could see the gravity of what was happening and rallied to support us.

A journalist found some secret documents left on a train discussing the tactics used by the police to "increase" evidence against us so that they could push through a ban on what we were doing
